Using Pay Per Click Advertising

pay-per-click

An affiliate marketing campaign needs good traffic to be successful.  One of the more popular and effective methods to drive traffic is to start a Pay Per Click campaign.  Pay Per Click is usually typed out as simply PPC for short, and is an easy way to target traffic so that you’re not wasting money advertising to uninterested consumers.  Banner and link ads may attract some traffic, but because you’re paying a flat rate to the website displaying your ads, it can end up costing you much more than it’s worth. Since you only pay for clicks to your site with PPC, you’ll save money in your advertising, which can increase your profit margin.

The best position for your website to be in is at the top of the results on a search engine. With Pay Per Click, you’ll always be at the top, since advertising is always shown above and to the side of search results.  There are other forms of advertising, such as impression-based ads.  If you’re using this model, you’ll pay every time your ad is displayed even if no one actually looks at it.  This can cost you as much or more money than the banner ads would, and considerably more than PPC will likely cost you. Do you really want to pay to not have your advertising seen? PPC is considerably more effective than these other forms of advertising.

When you perform a search on Google or on several other search engines, you’ll see links at the top and one side of the search results. These links are Pay Per Click advertising.  The links below those top results are the actual search results, which is based on the website content.  If you have quality keyword content, you may be able to get your website at the top of these natural search results, as well as your PPC ad, giving you more bang for your buck.  PPC advertising isn’t difficult or expensive. You can set a low budget to try it out, without fearing too much advertising money spent with too little profit.  If you’re part of an affiliate marketing program, Pay Per Click is a great way to bring in traffic.

How Does Affiliate Marketing Work?

how-affiliate-marketing-works

If you’re looking to get out of your 9-5 job or even just make a little extra money to supplement your income, the Internet is the place that most people turn to in order to find something can do on the side from home. One of the most popular ways to make money is through affiliate marketing.

If you are just beginning to search for ways to make money with affiliate marketing, you might be overwhelmed with the amount of information that is available on the Internet, but on the big scheme of things, affiliate marketing is a fairly easy concept to grasp and begin to implement. In fact, you can start making sales fairly quickly, but turning it into a full time income is where it becomes a bigger deal and needs some advanced techniques and experience.

Here’s a the basic 3 things that makes affiliate marketing work:

Find a niche:
Think all the niches are taken and over saturated? Not even close!  As long as you think beyond real estate, dating, poker, and all the other mass niches that have ridiculously strong competition, you will do great. For instance you may find something like “how to kill cockroaches” and build a campaign strictly around that. You’d be surprised what you can make from a micro niche like that if you do the right research.

Find a product or service
Believe it or not, the choice relies heavily on your original niche research, because you should have learned about what your customer really wants.

Traffic
In order to make money you need to make sales. In order to make sales you need visitors (a.k.a. traffic). It’s extremely important to focus on the quality of visitors and not the quantity. If you could have 1000 visitors that weren’t very targeted and you made 3 sales or have 50 extremely targeted customers and make 15 sales, which would you prefer?

Many people start out focusing on the number of visits as opposed to what matters and that’s who those visitors are.
